Apple Ipod 5 pros and cons

The new lineup of ipod touchs
All pictures from Apple website
The new Apple iPod touch 5th generation has finally been released, but you still don't know how you feel about the device? Here are some pros and cons about the new device that may just help you decide.

PROS

4 Inch Retina Display
The new iPod touch now boasts the exact same screen as the iPhone 5.  It's new larger screen makes watching movies and playing games even better. Many people are saying "Why make it larger? It's not much of a difference." But I say, that extra half an inch makes quite the difference. The new iPod has a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating that keeps your screen cleaner and free of fingerprints.

5-Megapixel Isight Camera
The new camera was a big step up from the last ipod (4th gen). With it's new auto focus and tap to focus features it is a lot easier to get artistic with the camera. The camera can also record videos in full HD (1080p) which is a very nice feature.  Like the iPhone, The iPod touch now has an LED flash option which can be very helpful for getting those nice night shots.

The old iPod weighed 101 grams.
New Thinner, Lighter Design
The new iPod weighs only 88 grams!

All-New Apple EarPods

Supposedly these new earbud wonders are supposed to fit to the shape of the human ear to bring comfort, And also deliver incredible sound quality.

Better Processing Chip Set
The new dual core A5 Chip brings twice the processing speed and power while supplying 7 times the graphics speed of the previous chip. All this without docking your battery life.

CONS

Sound Quality Isn't Superb
For the whole iPod touch line, Apple uses similar sound chips. This chip however only supports a frequency response of 20Hz - 20,000Hz. This is the range of audible noise, what our ears can detect as noise. For many though this isn't enough however. The sound chip can't handle any frequencies lower than 20Hz limiting the range of bass.

Lightning Connector
With Apple's new Lightning Connector, everyone with chargers from previous models are forced to buy new chargers. Also this new connector renders most stereos and docks made for Apple devices incompatible with the new iPod.

iPod No Longer Available in 8 GB
This is not a problem for me, as i would only get a 32 GB anyway. But many do not want to spend the extra $100 to buy the 32 GB model. For many the new higher price is prohibitive.

 SO...

Hopefully this was of some help to you in your decision about the new iPod. I am definitely interested in this new device, but are you? Hopefully this helped you get a little more information, so that you can make an informed decision! And don't forget to check out our blog homepage for a poll about this device!
